About Listen to Baljit

Indian Born Restauranteur Sardar Gurdial Singh came to Oslo in 1982 and started Indian Cuisine as the founder of Maharaja Restaurant, after developing his chef skills at The Ashoka Hotel in Delhi.

His son, Baljit Singh Padda created «Listen to Baljit» inspired by the food vendors from the streets of India. The menu spans dishes from across the country, traditional fare with a modern twist.  Indian street food is the perfect way to sample India´s vast cusine and culture. The dishes are packed with flavour, texture and aromactic spices.

Listen to Baljit is a blend of  authentic masalas, all the way from Indian farms combined with the passion and experience of our chefs. Our chefs have worked in some of the most prominent hotels and restaurants, such as Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, The great Palaces of The Leela, Bangalore and Udaivillas by Oberoi’s Rajasthan.

Indian food lovers in Oslo will be able to enjoy culinary cocktails, street food and fine dining, all in one place.

Donate a meal!

Listen to Baljit donates a meal to children in many countries over the world. So every time one has a meal, we donate a meal to children that goes hungry. Once a year during Christmas, Diwali and Eid, we collect to support their way through education and schooling. For more information please contact us by phone or email.

Do you want to book our restaurant for your event? Listen to Baljit is a prime location for any type of event – anniversaries, company parties, birthdays and other events. We are centrally located at Frognerveien 1.

Our kitchen serves a perfect combination of culinary cocktails, street food and fine dining, all in one place.

Minimum price: 599 kr per person eating.
